Assistance in choosing a large air source

Well, give it a shot. Never know until you try right? I would try it if I had a spare engine.

Well I do have a spare two cylinder engine at a mates house, all I need is some check valves and I'm set!

And yes, agreeably a compressor would be a good investment but I really don't have the money! if I am going down the compressor route (as it seems I am now)
I need a reasonably cheap simple way of obtaining or making one somehow, at the moment I am edging towards the checkvalve'n enigine method.
any pointers would be vastly appreciated
and yes I have googled it already but searches on the matter seem fruitless/ or in gibberish. help from people who can make it 'compressornoob' friendly would be great.
