Not necessarily. His prototype will have full flow once the base of the projectile passes the end of the barrel, a QDV is still opening when the projectile starts to move, so in terms of performance, this should have the edge - and if that's what you're after, voila :)

I tested under 30bar my PAC and I'm really happy!
No leaks and great performances!

My usual target wood / steel was broken, the bad news is that my wife forgot to press the red button on the camcorder is no video of the shooting!

For cons I made a video of the damage ...

Tomorrow I ever did a video!

I'm happy!
I made a shot 600psi, very powerful!
the bullet passed through the target, another target fortunately arrested.
This is a good system!

This is a good system!
yes, it is

are you going to add a spring behind the bolt and a sear to keep it in cocked position ?

you know... something like this (pic below) ??

ohh and BTW who was filming it this time?? I can hear a child in the background... did you assume a woman is not competent enough to do the job ? [/chauvinism]

EDIT
ohh and where the hell is JSR? he would have responded with 'must not fap' hours ago :-)

It just hit me...

What will happen when the o-ring in the back leaks??

Damage is very ,very impressive!...wich is both good,,,and possibly bad at the same time..

I would not feel safe with it though..

The bolt needs to be open untill the actual shot....that would be better...

yes of course!
I waited to see if the PAC is working well
Now I will finish it and put a stick

EDIT :

With a leak in the back we could not fill the tank

BTB, that's exactly how I felt watching it fill up.

It would be quite easy to have it open before and airtight during the shot but then it would require some sort of lock to keep it from opening again as it recoils back.

a leak in the air of a toggle QEV is as dangerous ...

It can not happen because if the cylinder head gasket is leaking air will not go into the projo but by the striker who is not waterproof!

As he said, a leak on the pilot side of a QEV, or an airtight projectile combined with a leak on the front seal of a QDV can also trigger the shot.

But I do reckon there is a way around this.

Edit:

The bolt itself isn't actually air tight, it just sits in the copper tube, so if its a small leak that's fine, a larger one may still trigger the shot.

He does actually have redundant O-rings on both sides of the projectile.

I'm talking about the procedure involved. Firing looks especially dangerous, hitting it with a hammer like that, and the way you're holding it isn't very safe. Personally, I wouldn't shoot it.
