How should I tighten it the next time so it doesn't destroy the part completely

Also the air is exhausting slow from my valve any ideas?

With proper tools like a big pair of channel locks or a strap wrench. Have a grown up or your dad help you if you cannot figure it out. I do not understand what you mean by air is exhausting slowly. This is a huge valve so you need a bigger chamber How much pressure are you using? For that size valve a 1 1/2 inch chamber in my opinion is way too small unless its like 10 feet long. The thing must look gay. Make a new chamber using 2 inch or bigger. Save your pennies and make a metal chamber or use a old fire extinguisher or somthin. Do you know how to use ggdt? If not, have someone run the numbers for you for an ideal chamber to barrel ratio. I used like 5 feet of 2 inch for a chamber and I have 3 different length golf ball barrels. This is a serious bad ass valve, so make a serious bad ass cannon with it. Okay, you used parts from other cannons to see if it worked and it did, now get to the drawing board and make something worthy!!

There air still coming out of the pilot after the shot thats what I meant by air exhausting slow, sorry should have been more specific. And the chamber I have on it now is a test chamber so I will get a bigger one it when I can. But as you know I'm a kid so I don't have the funds at the moment. I do like the fire extinguisher idea I'll see if I can get one cheap on Ebay. And My computer isn't compatible with ggdt I think cuz every time I try to download the software it says I need to extract it from a file and I guess I don't have that capability on my computer. And it's not a stone age computer lol. I'm going to try to get the new chamber on it soon, thanks for the help :lol:

Sometimes I get a little bit of air after a shot but its not much and hardly noticeable, is it alot? If not I wouldnt worry about it. If you have a recycling center near by check them out for a fire extinguisher or even a piece of pipe. There is a ggdt thread that you can get results in if you post your info. Also you have to be logged in with administrator priviledges to download and use ggdt. Hope this helps, good luck.

The Goyen RCA45T and the ASCO 8353H38 are very similar.
Attached are comparisons of a Fire Extinguisher chamber versus 4 foot of 1.5" pipe.


With a Fire Extinguisher you can make a much more ergonomic comfortable launcher.

Here is what I recommend: Look closely at the street elbow, the nipple and the coupler (merchant coupling) welded to the steel Fire Extinguisher.
You will also see a 1-1/2 conduit locknut to elbow/valve to minimize the chance of the valve turning.

I still love that launcher dewey definatly a work of art if I do say so myself. And your cad drawings are friggen awesome!! Actually after seeing this I am going to put some golf balls into space!!!! 8) 8)

One problem would be for me is I don't have the tools nor the knowledge to weld. But I like your cannon. Thanks for the help :lol:

I dont know hqow welding would be a problem seeings how it is all boltable stuff!! :? There is not anything on that cannon that is welded...

If you are using a Fire Extinquisher for a chamber, you need to at minimum, match up the hole diameters of valve input to the chamber output for optimum flow.

To do that, I welded a 1-1/2 coupler to the tank after putting the appropriate size hole in the tank.

Do any fire extinguisher not require welding to get them onto a gun. Like they just screw on with a wrench :?:
