i like the hammerhead design but it has way too slow of a rate of fire. it would be awesome if it could be improved to like one or two cds a second

well then use a higher rpm loader motor

Good call on the higher rpm loader motor. The hammerhead design is pretty much what irwinner conceived. Adapting his idea for the original base and the hammerhead design I think I will be able to put something together this weekend. Looks like the R/V wheels may work after all.....

ok on some some of your post you thought a pneumatic gun would be cool. also you said to flatten the pvc barrel.
Well these ideas wont work because after the cd leaves the barrel and there is no induced spin the cd will get lower pressure on top ( will act like an airplane wing ) and coase it to tumble and go about 10 feet in front of you. use the spinning wheels to propel the cd.

How would it act like an airplane wing?

yeah why would it get lower pressure on top? and if what you say will happen really happen then just tilt it on its side so when it fires, the cd will come out vertical.

ok that would work. ok airplane thing is if you shoot it upward in any way the pressure gits less on top of the cd ( airplane wings are slanted to achieve this) this will cause it to tumble.

airplane wings are slanted to achieve this
That's not really true airplane wings aren't flat (like a cd is), they are specially shaped to produce lift.

ok true true. you people are going to waste your time if you build a pnuematic one. just make one using spinning discs to propel the cd.

your right though. it probably would tumble but it wouldnt have anything to do with an airfoil.
i like the spinnng wheel desgin better anyways. you can make it semi auto and you dont have to pump a chamber up before every shot.

i think a spinning disc wheel thing is more effective, easier and looks better.

Although he was kinda right. A higher AOA does produce more lift with an airfoil. But go too high and you go into a stall, and if you don't know how to pull out of it correctly you could lose total control and kill yourself.
