trust me chaos, he knows what he's talking about. he has been involved in this hobby for alot longer than you. and don't twist his words! cell core pvc is bad indeed, but he didn't say anything about pvc! he recommended cell core ABS!!! and if he were to recommend that particular type of pipe, i would trust him.

you really need to learn what you're talking about. do some research!

Chaos,
I've built lots of combustion guns (and a few pneumatic, but those are beside the point for this issue). Most of them have been ABS Cell-Core DWV pipe. I trust it A LOT for combustions, I think for combustions its better than NSF-PW PVC.

Why?

If PVC pipe does for some reason fail (such as, if it gets dropped or the barrel is obstructed when fired) it will grenade and shrapnel - remember PVC doesn't show up on xrays :P

If ABS fails, it rips open cleanly down the side wall of a pipe, and depressurizes with no shrapnel. I've intentionally made it fail to see what happens.

Don't b!tch people out when you don't know your facts, please.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

I am going to put a golf ball barell on it, I was wondering how much more range would I would get out of my cannon with a smaller golf ball barrel. So far I have only tested my rebuilt cannon in my house and in my garage. It shot a small plastic bottle that I found around my house and it shot through 4 layers of cardboard but the bottle was destroyed.

a golf ball barrel will be cool, are you gonna use 1.5" sdr 21 or sleeve 2" sch 40 inside of itself?

look ok mi bad ive never used plastic so yer i take ur word for it to so IM SORRY diddn't realize how much u knew bout plastics but please when it comes to steel tube and high pressures tapped threads aren't the best idea im thinking it would b the same for plastic but i may be wrong for a tapp to work safely u should have 3-4 threads it would be unpractical to use a fitting so small to achieve this. soz 4 the misunderstanding

ps: ive got a golf ball barrel the pipe is and uncommon size in steel 43mm but the ball fits snug and i aim it flat and i lose sight of the ball

i see your misunderstanding, but still, don't contradict someone who knows what they're talkin' about when you know that you don't.

and don't post your gun in other people's threads, nobody likes it when you show off at the expense of others!

adios!

Chaos, we all can figure out what a golf-ball barrel does.
You can't define a defintion.

And from what I see now, you are either poorly informed or just a complete idiot. And I hope you learn to take my advice and know your place.
