Well I am a frosh, and are not allowed out off the grounds except on weekends when they let us. However there is so much to do here, we have a full machine and welding shop. We have complete steam systems, diesal plants, and of course a 224' training vessal. We have no real service requirement after graduation and we spend a year out at sea getting real hands on training. I will graduate with a mechanical degree, a coast guard licesne and a commison as an officer in the USNR or any other branch of my choice. Bascially its a really good deal.

Sounds like a good deal.I like the fact of having a machine shop.Although I hate being offshore I get seasick. Not a good thing for a kid who has worked on boats since he was 7.

Lol well what are you interested in, being an engineer or deckie? An enginner wont be affected that much by the sea.

"ShowNoMercy"~Thats a always a good thing to hear from people, I am in the Merchant Marine academy and sometimes hearing people always complaining how bad the government sucks is annoying. Anyway, god bless america.
Dittos!!!!!
What acadaemy?
I ask ....as I was a tug captain for nearly 20 years. Had all the time to sit , trip and tonnage for a pilots exam in Puget Sound.....
The industry just didn't challenge me anymore so I decided to stick a fork in my eye and become self employed.
What do you want to do when you get out?

A-98~Don't develop a grudge. NO need to raise your voice....shore up your argument.
If liberals stood for common sense, American values and supported the constitution when THEY were in power....I would be one.
Start hating me now or ban me.
