In addition by saying that you have a limited knowledge of spudguns, you admit that you probaly wont be building a cannon that would win in this competition, so whats the big deal? If anything the 50 posts is saving you from embarressment. If you really want to be a member, just learn from the site and then put forth information of your own.
Let me put it like this, my knowledge of spudguns is basic. I would still like to enter the contest though, mainly for the fun of it; I don't have any expectations of winning.
Don't waste our time post whore.

He already said he wasn't planning on winning it. That in and of itself proves that he knows it won't do well. He's just trying to find something to whine about.

yea. the funny thing is, he has access to all the spud gunning knowledge he would ever need in this site

Yup, like I said. He's just a whiner. Take your whining and go play tag on the autobahn.

Or perhaps just shutup, build your cannon and post it. And then complain

Meanwhile, how many post did this thread about post did he rack up? At the time of this post hes at 45. Posting his cannon before the 50 count will disqulafie(sp) his cannon from the contest.

Lets put it like this.... now that the time is "here" for submission, some rules will be bent.

If someone built a cannon just a few days ago and posted it/posted a video of it, the rule for being brand new for submission can slide.

If someone enters with 40 posts, it may slide.

Let it be known to everyone to just go ahead and submit. If it screams "not contest worthy" members will come to me to have it taken down.

The rules for it act as a guard to keep new ideas flowing and to prevent unfair entries into the contest. It is way too late for someone to try to register a few accounts, "borrow" ideas from someone elses work and build a few cannons and post them all under different accounts.... therefor the rules are allowed to be bent.

Think of it as a Police Officer giving you a 10mph buffer zone on the speed limit.

guys, quit bitching.

the kid was just wondering why you needed 50 posts, and now you guys are accusing him of being a whiner and post whore.

"He already said he wasn't planning on winning it. That in and of itself proves that he knows it won't do well. He's just trying to find something to whine about."

no offense papiyan ( I like you; not in a gay way. ), but it seems kinda like you are trying to find something to whine about.

I found the quadruple posting or whatever in the beginning of the thread quite funny, for some reason. at first I thought he was just double posting, then I was like "...ohhhhh".

paaiyan wrote:Yet another reasonr for the requirement, intelligence. You should have a good knowledge of spudguns before you enter one. The post requirement helps ensure that knowledge. So go learn.
I had zero knowledge of spudguns before I started building mine, and I think it came out better than a lot of others. Here it is almost done:

Just because someone is a 'spudgun newb' does not mean they're an idiot or incompetent. In reality, they're really not very complicated to build, so I don't see how 50 posts would help improve the quality of the spudguns entered. If anything, it will disqualify me from entering.

Unless of course, I get 50 posts.

ilovetoblowthingsup wrote:First off....don't double post......Second to answer your question....My guess is that that may be a measure of experience..And he doesn't just want people signing up to post a cannon that may not even be worthy to put in the contest...i.e. it would just junk up the forum about the cannons...but I am not sure..So don't take my word for granted
Does this look worthy?

Bolt action, laser site, assault style flashlight, paintball caliber barrel (CPVC), key safety switch, and with luck it'll have a bipod tomorrow.

PCGUY wrote:#1, this contest is for members, anyone can be a member but I do not want someone to sign up, enter, win, and leave. It's kind of pointless.

#2, this is the main reason. If anyone can make an account and post a cannon, then people would build a few and enter them under different accounts to increase their chances of winning.

#3, don't ever make a bunch of posts in a row to try to get closer to 50. You will be very quickly disqualified.

This is your only warning.
1. I came here for information to build my spudgun.
2. A few days ago I found out about this contest.
3. Due to the large number of pnuematics, I don't expect it to win, but I do think it's definitely 'good enough' to compete in your contest.
