also I was thinking of trying an idea i saw a while ago.
on the reducer where the small pipe fits on, I was thinking of making it go all the way through and comming out the other side of the reducer a little, then filing it down there so I can unskrew the barrel and ram the potatos on and not have to use a ram rod... would that work having an overhang inside the comb chaimber??

um, it takes up room in the chamber, thus giving less volume, thus reducing proformance. unless i miss understood what he said.

well kinda... it would make the area where the gas enters the barrel not flush with the reducer.
Ill just make it a differnt barrel and try it!!

Merged:

so will a 3" chaimber be ok or should I use a 4"??

ok, I'm back.
I had a bit of a shock when I saw the price of the fittings... :(
I ended up getting a 3' section of 3" and a 3' section of 1.5" pipe.
My cannon will just be simple and such.
I will prolly have a 1' comb chaimber with the reducer to 1.5" and a threaded end cap.
I will hopefully still have the wooden handle on it though.

will post pics when its built

nice cannon!!! i really like that wood handle, you did a good job glueing the pieces together, no drippings, cant wait to see some damage pics  i would recommend waiting till tomorrow, and you use spud bux in the shop, what you get 300 , you can buy a signature.
