Hey people, Im back for today, here's a pic. I am starting to cover it in black electical tape, and remove the duct tape on the barrel. Do you like it better black or silver?

Thats looking pretty cool! Just a question, why dont you just spray it black instead of the tape? I like the black though!

Ok, here is the blackness, w/o labels yet though. As for why I am using tape, it is scratch resistant, and will insulate the chamber completely. Also, I used up all my spray paint. I found that the paint just chips off duct tape. Also, I removed the black duct tape around the handels.
EDIT - YOU BETTER LIKE THIS, SPUDBLASTER!!

Flip that looks decent now! Ireally like the gloss black. What labels are you going to put on?

Im going to put the danger and caution labels, the radioactive label, spudgunner label and the pic of the crazy spud (seen on barrel in a pic). I will also put on lettering with its new name (typed this time), as well as a warning label, with an arrow pointing towards the end of the barrel (like those seen on real rocket launchers and RPGs)
I am thinking of calling the gun the RPG - RadioActive Potato Gun
or the VENGENCE, or the RIFT. Any other name ideas/acronyms?

There was a thread full of such acryonyms not so long ago:
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/naming- ... t6439.html
That should spawn some ideas.

Joannardway, thx for linky. Mind if I use your idea? "WMD - Weapon of Mashed Destruction"

now thats funny!! Props to you man, but I am still unsure.

The WMD one isn't actually my idea (It's roamed the net since long before I ever started spudding) - so I can't stop you using it.
You're free to use any of the ones that are actually my ideas as well.
In short, use it!

Holy CRAP!!! I just test fired it a couple of times, and this thing ROCKS!!! It has been a while since I fired a spudgun though, so maybe I am overreacting. When I fired an uncooked potato, the sound was twice as loud as a cooked one, but not as loud as a burst disk. The recoil is pretty sweet too, you need to make sure to have your feet planted and have a firm grip so as not to drop the gun. Distance, I can only give a rough estimate. On two seconds of oust, the potato went 150 - 200 yards. Veryy rough estimate, ill post pics so you can judge for yourself. Remember, I have only shot 2 "real" times. The potato that nearly hit my neighbor's tree spiralled out of control at the end. is this normal? I was using very bumpy, may eyed "red potatoes".
The first potato went straight through a tree that the cooked potato barely made it too. the second one went into a neighbors tree. Maybe a movie if I can find how to.
EDIT- Here's the pic. How far is your estimate? Me an my neighbor both have an acre of land, if that can somehow help. The distance from me to the "cooked tater" tree is close to 130 ft, if I remember right.
EDIT 2- Here is the mov:

Now you should put an onboard propane tank with appropriate meter.
That gun is pretty sweet in my opinion. Does the oust leave a sticky residue over time inside the chamber?

So far, no residue, no problems. What do you think of the range? is it good for its size? Do you think the fluted barrel negatively affects preformance?
