Crowley, have you ever seen the Southern Lights from NZ?

Na, think you can only see them from the South Island and I've only ever been to the South Island once or twice and never lower than Hanmer Springs; which is only about 1/4 the way down the South Island.

I live up to my Jafa sterotype and whole-heartedly believe "New Zealand stops at the Bombay Hills" (meaning anywhere south of Auckland is not part of NZ)

Crowley how can you stand having that feature turned on?
I figured it was a bad idea long ago, seeing as I used my school system's email originally. My inbox was alway full of "Reply to your comment in *something involving guns/cannons/dangerous sounding stuff*.

Otherwise I lose track of what topics I'm following (sometimes I follow topics without having posted a comment) and the "There are: XX new messages" feature is quite unreliable.

Out of 15,742 emails from the last 2.5 years 3,486 of them are 'Admin' emails from Spudfiles

I just accidently shot my 97k without a pellet in the barrel But, as after that shot 20 shots in the same hole, so i guess my gun is ok

Doing it once or twice won't ruin the gun, it's doing it repeatedly that breaks springs and piston heads.

Tried focus stacking for the first time today; these are the results of a spider about 1mm x 1mm in size under a compound microscope at 10x and 40x:


This is zoomed in on the head but you can't make out much (except the fangs) because it's on its back:


You really do lose the depth of field in the images, I wonder if there is a technique to preserve it so it appears more 3D?

Isn't 3D filmed with multible camera's at multible angles? Why not try different angles then overlay the images maybe??? IDK I'm just guessing. Looks cool though.

That is how stereo microscopes give 3D images. Maybe it's something to do with our brain and eyes that allows for a 3D image through a compound microscope but shows up 2D on a camera. I've been thinking about making my own stereo 'scope with a pair of binoculars...
