Personally I don't really think this is needed - I would much rather have something cheap and simple that can be set up, fire check last velocity measured and then plug it in to my computer, upload results and output them as a .csv file
Well either way, all of those functions are just in the code, and in the worst case adding push button or two isn't expensive or complicated.

I have a segment of chronograph code in the program I wrote for the solenoid fire control system. Haven't looked at it in a while though.

I was using two optoschmitt triggers and some cheap red lasers for the gate, but there are many ways of setting it up.

What I quite like about the homebuilt setup with a microcontroller, is that you could quite easily add a gate at the start of the barrel also, and get real data for acceleration times etc...

I guess it would require 2 IR diodes and IR phototransistor plus a few extra parts like an LCD display (probably parts wouldn't cost more than 15$)
Like this?

The '88 is fantastic but had they focused on guided missiles instead...

Just watched this movie yesterday. Seemed a lot cooler when I was 6.

Can we get a Worst Movie Endings Ever thing going here?

Do you know those moments when you remember that The Matrix Revolutions exists? When you remember that they actually made that movie, and you paid money to see it, and think "Nooooooooooo... God, no... bloody hell! Nooooooooo... ".

It's getting less frequent, but as a youngster I remember conversations where someone at random would suddenly go "Awwwww....aw man, that film... awwww... nooooo...".

Thought it could have done without the constant cheesy characters and cliché moments, but never thought of a way to end it any better. Thinking of it purely as and anime-ish action movie makes it tolerable.

I look back at movies like The Core and Spiderman 2 and wonder how it's even possible to watch them without groaning at the terrible physics and exaggerated/dumbed-down science in general. I kinda wonder if americans would be a little smarter if hollywood started force-feeding them movies that actually require you to pay attention to what's going on. Anybody remember Primer?
