Someone is very, very intoxicated...

...Yet still manages to squeeze a link into his post. :D
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

So I also saw this video also by you, and I think I have exactly the same springer. So that made me think... when I watch for the BBs flying through the air, I can see them pretty clearly, almost as clearly as they're shown in your high-speed footage. Filmed at the standard 32 frames/sec the BB may not show up at all, even though 32 frames/sec looks smooth. Does this mean that our perception of high-speed objects is more like 420Hz? That really does look almost exactly like what I see when I watch for the BB, it seems to move that slow although I have tried to film it on 32 frames/sec and it doesn't work.

well if the bb is going 300fps and your camera takes 32fps then the bb will travel 10 ft in between frames, so it might show up on the film but it will probable just be a little blur
why make it if it dosent shoot?

Please note that Frames/Sec is only part of getting a clear photo. The actual exposure time can reduce blur. For example if shooting at 32 Frames/Sec and each frame gets a 1/10,000th sec exposure, the motion blur will be small but each frame will have little motion blur.

Many movie cameras have a high speed shutter to capture sports action.

Not mine, but just found a great entry for the best shot.. In slow motion at the end.

The dropped one is very interesting indeed. You should try dropping them on different objects to see what kind of deformation you can achieve before the balloon pops. :D

Good idea 8)
I'll have to run out and get some though... me and a friend put that video together at his house. I don't have any right now... it'll have to wait. But have no fear... the death of a very large fruit is in the near future. :D

There were few responses to the tangeriens due to the relatively slow impact velocity. It broke into chunks instead of turning into fine puree and floating off as a fine mist.

Here is an orange at 1,000 frames per sec. It hardly slows down for the expanded metal screen.

@Jack, yeah sorry about that lol
I actually used Movie Maker, but I'm running the W7 version...

@Tech, that's because we only threw it at the wall. Every one of the tangerine videos were actually filmed at school 8) We didn't have access to my piston valves  If you go frame by frame on the 1000 fps video, you can see the way it splits. It's really cool, but MM won't let me slow it down any more :(
