I love south african, I can understand it perfectly 
On a different note, after some thinking I decided not to buy the crosman 1377, just because I think 90 euro's is too expensive for a gun of a build quality this poor
However, I stumbled across [link=http://www.umarex.com/uxc.php?load=view ... 36&deptid=]this[/link], a gun with a fairly good build quality for an acceptable price.
The trigger is quite crappy however, but I think I would be able to fix that.

I could still go for the crosman, much more modding potential especially as you have access to machine tools.

I see the difference in modding capability, but the quality of the crosman is so poor I wouldn't even pay 60€ for it
The Hammerli is more for target shooting, less modding. I would like to put a custom made gas ram into it tough, and redo some parts to make it more durable. I found a very nice wire EDM cutter at work, so I might even be able to redo the complete trigger mechanism

This one got shaped today
Blade is bohler k510 silversteel, 101mm long, triple quenched in saltwater, and blade got tested by cutting beer bottle caps in two and the slicing some paper, so its good enough
Bolsters are 5-7mm bronze, front bolster ( the one under the blade) is soldered in place, the base (or bottom) bolster is riveted with the tang
Handle is birch barn. About 57 thick pieces of barn fitted and every single one is tightened in place (my GF tightened these with the smallest hammer i had (about 120grams) and about after every five i "gently tapped" the handle with my huge forging hammer)
AND sandman: yours will be next, i promise

In reply to a few posts ago on a pressure measuring device...
A cheap and McGuyver type depth gauge can be made with a clear drinking straw and chewing gum.
Seal one end of a drinking straw with gum. Keep the gum end up to trap it full of air.
Each doubling of atmospheric pressure will half the volume of air in the straw. EG: when the straw fills half full of water, you are at 2 Atm or about 33.3 feet in seawater. Straw should be empty of water at the surface.

I've been away for a few weeks. Often out of cell phone range as well as Internet. I didn't even bother packing a spudgun. Too little time with all the rest I was doing.
I'm still sorting pictures picking a few to post and print. The trip included the Grand Canyon, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and a few other places.
