Hi, again all. Been a while and I should get back into it. Just not sure what to build next. I have been involved in a KZ1000 buggy which took up a lot of time so far.

Well you have to admit, you pretty much built what many consider the ultimate spud gun here with the whole stainless, aluminum, oxy propane, mech mount ridiculous awesomeness....8) Kind of hard to top such an effort....

I would love to see you try though....

Hi again. I just wanted to let everyone know why I have not been here in a while. I have been working on this buggy and the stainless cannon will go on top. Takes up a lot of time.

Thanks Jack. I did shoot the stainless cannon last week. the 1 1/2" spud went through 3/4" plywood at about 40 feet. Three shots of propane and 3 shots of oxygen. Kind of scary seeing a soft spud do that much damage.

It's counter intuitive but when you think about it, if it's travelling fast enough even water will cut steel

That.s true. They use a water jet for cutting out steel plates. Hell of a lot of pressure though. I also need to take some pictures of the ammo I have developed, rockets and styrofoam bust disks. Hopefully soon. The hand spun fan for mixing also has been working for over a year. So much easier than electric fans.

what is the engine on that buggy? looks much like a harley davidsons engine.

old snowmobiles also have engines like that.

I don't even know what to say! That is amazing! Imagine that ultimate cannon on top of a buggy speeding towards you, I would drop a present if you know what I mean! Plus it is SHINY!!!!

I beg you make it go supersonic through a dead tree or something! Imagine the spud splatter from that! I bet you wouldn't even be able to find any of the tater! What is the thickest object you have penetrated?

I also really like that buggy.. Are you also going to paint your buggy chrome? In one way I would like to see it painted chrome but I also like the different color metal peices.. really makes it mad max like.

Hi all. Thanks for all the nice compliments. Things have been slow here especially with the cold. I will post the buggy when I make more progress. The cost is hard to determine, mostly parts I had already. Davidvaini, you can use what ever you like. See you all soon. The engine was donated, it is a 1977 kz 1000

Getting back to your ammo and burst disks. I'm interested in more detail there...materials use, burst disk clamp and access. If you could present some pics and description on that subject, it would be much appreciated.

Starman, I will try to take some pics today and post them here. The burst disks are actually just cut out of 1" insulation foam. Like a cookie cutter. They are pushed down the barrel with the ammo. They are a tight fit and have worked for years. I use a sharpened pipe the same dia. as the barrel.
Takes 5 minutes to cut out 20. I use them with 3x injection and they still hold. You can find the insulation board at most construction sites as scrap.
The pink kind work the best.
