I would love to see a giant ice projectile put through a brick wall.

That would be awsome
But Im preety sure swat could do that with one of its larger bore barrels already but I may be wrong
Id Like to see it bring a 100ft tree to the ground that would be absolutely amazing.

Not gonna happen..... Too much respect for trees here in the desert.

A more realistic target would be a concrete wall.

The gun is hard mounted to the trailer.

The recoil mechanism will be nothing more exotic than defeating the air brakes and allowing the trailer to roll a few feet.

Essentially an automotive ignition system running at 28 VDC. Multiple point ignition, of course. Right now I'm thinking of 7-9 ignition points but we'll see how the combustion property tests go.

Instead of tapping a lot of holes, are you just goind to run a spark strip on the inside of each wing?

This will be amazing =)

I hope you mic the sound of it going off real well and have it in stereo for your video. Now let me get this straight...Are you both building this for a client and keeping the gun for yourself letting the client have free access of it? I read all of the posts, but didn't quite get this part of it for sure. Good luck! Hope you get it finished!

Yep.

Cant do it w/ a real gun though.

Mythbusters proved it so.

But w/ a pneumatic....we'll be breaking the laws. Aha

I'll be tapping a lot of holes. Well, actually, my welder/machinists will be tapping a lot of holes. I'll just be drawing pretty pictures of where the holes should be tapped. :?

What type of range would you expect out of something this size?
Over 3 miles...atleast right?

The way it works is this....

A client says, "Hey, I want to smack this here item up against a wall at Mach 0.9."

We say, "No problem. That'll be $100,000 please."

The client gives us the money. We build the gun. We shoot his item into the wall. He walks away happy. We keep the gun. After all, we didn't contract to build a gun for $100k. We contracted to smack his item into a wall for $100k. How we do it is of no consequence to the customer (odds are he wouldn't want the gun even if we let him have it).

Of course, the NEXT guy who wants something smacked into a wall only gets charged $20k, but, hey, that's the penalty for being on the bleeding edge.

Overly simplified, but that's the basics of how our business works.

Not only no but hell no.

Likely target ranges are under 100 meters. The point wouldn't be to prove how far something could fly. The point would be to show what happens when something hits a wall.

Uh... We have about 1.1 million acres at our disposal. I'm sure we'll think of something.
