Its almost like Christmas came early this year. I got the speargun back.
Here's the story:
I had court yesterday and all went well. The range of the fines I was eligible for was different from what I had expected ($50-$500). Instead it was $400 - $950. The judge gave me the minimum and plus court fees $536.50 was the total. Today during class this girl I've been talking to texted me wondering why I hadn't told her about this court incident. Turns out, her mom is the judge. Sure wish I would've told her beforehand. Anyhow, she called her mom and told her what happened, her mom remembered me because I was polite and said she would fill out all the paper work to get my speargun back and give it to her daughter to give to me so I don't have to drive back down to Gonzales. How awesome is that?

You, my friend have one horse shoe too many!
Be sure you treat that girl to a night on the town to show that you're "properly" appreciative.

I'm not sure why you didn't get it back in the first place. You aren't a minor. I certainly would have been strenuously asking that I get my property back. You certainly paid for it...several times over actually.
Any who, I'm glad you got this behind you.

Wow, that is the good thing about connections. I thought a judge or jury couldn't make decisions based on relationships or whatever, but i also know nothing about laws either.

Actually just got back from dinner, she invited me and some friends over. I took responsibility for the grilling of the deer on the pit and she did the casserole. Her mom (The Judge) came by and dropped the paperwork off and made us some banana cream pudding. Actually a pretty cool lady. I'm still shocked at my luck so far.

Yeah you ain't kiddin...
