Okay, the latest update. I have made a fully working pisont out of bike tire tubing and the deo cap. I need to buy the threaded fitting because the solvent ones just dont wanna work for me as removeable. SO with the threaded fittings I should be able to fix it.

The current problem is the sealing faces rip off the bolts. I use an awl to make a slightly lager then pin sized hole. Next I stretch it over a 3mm bolt with a 20mm washer. I dont know how this happens but the sealing face with a pin prick of a hole rips off a 25mm washer just after firing (this is the reason for needing screw fittings).

MrCrowley wrote:Ha, it appears your piston is backwards...the sealing face goes on the otherside. And a plastic cap will need to be reinforced.
It will still work that wah, and indeed save you length in general as well as dead space from the hollow cylinder base. Still, I agree that a bit of reinforcement would not go amiss.

Yea, it is reinforced no. The layers are as follows:

Bolt Head
Washer
washer
Inner Tube
Inner Tube
Toilet Washer
Deo Lid
Washer
Nut

Once I have the necesary parts I should be right (Damn NZ prices :()

Im in Australia ATM (for a winter it sure is warm :D). I just won my school science fair and won $75. With that I should be able to get a socket to female adapter and a male cap. That should make a serviceable piston right?

I have a good feeling about this cannon :D

Thanks for the help. much appreciated.
