3".
It was on a gun called 'Dam Buster', which is being renovated.

Lynyrdskynyrd - That actually looks like it would make a better prfectile that a piston. I just got an idea (which im sure someone has alreasy had). Put the pipe inside of one cap and then fill it with sand and top it off with the second cap.

I think thats what the mega launcher used as sabot rounds for shooting 2x4s but I'm not sure. Minus the second cap.

Oh yea, I remember seeing that in his video.
And by the way, a 1 1/4" PVC coupler is way too small for a 2" PVC tee. I realised that a 1 1/2" PVC coupler fits way better. And golf balls don't fit in 1 1/2" PVC. Why is that? And is it possible to remove a bushing that's already glued on? Thanks!

The golf balls dont fit in a 1.5 half inch SCH 40 pipe because a golf ball is really like 1.65 inches in diameter (something like that). When people say they use 1.5 inch pipe they mean 1.5 inch SDR 21. Ive never tried but from what ive read it fits perfectly in SDR 21.
And no you cannot remove a bushing, or any of piece of PVC for that matter, after it is cemented in. I suggested you poke around the forums and get aquainted with the term solvent welding.

well that piston was dangerous b/c we used dwv
sdr-21 doesn't work anymore.
DonTheLegend and I bought some like a week ago and it seems like the standard changed

Huh i do remember reading someone saying that. I believe it was either you or DonTheLegend, as you said. But did you look into it further? I do recall you asking if anyone else still had access to the original SDR 21. It is quite possible where you got it from just got a bad batch of it.
n-strike - I was very confused when i read your question about ungluing PVC, seeing as how your post count is almost 200. I would tihnk you would have more knowledge than that about PVC after being on here for a little while. But after reading through a few of your posts it seems that most of them, if not all of them are pointless, easily answered questions. Dont get me wrong either, ive asked my share of rediculous questions when i first got onto the forums as well. Bust you will find that it is easier to just learn on your own instead of just asking about every little thing.

it may have been a bad batch. but its kinda odd that all the sdr-21 pipe this place had on their lot was the same dimensions. Of course it could change between manufacturers, but even so, the pipe we got a year ago was the same maker but the right size. so i dunno

Well that is kind of weird. I honstly dont see why they would change the dimensions. I believe there was a mistake in the manufacturing of it.
And if all else fails, as far as i know, bcarms.com still has golf ball barrels.

I wish i had someone to build cannons with.

All of my friends have no interest in it.

thats a bummer dude.
it was because of help from my friends we were able to build such a large and extreme cannon.
of course everybody here at spudfiles helps with all your cannon needs... so its kinda like people to build cannons with, just not physically.
