The next problem though is getting people to use it. Seakings idea to make the search button bigger would work. Also we could post a universal announcement and send messages to all members, that way they would have no excuse for not using search.

Ditto, Pimp.
Have you guys not seen the 'advanced' search engine the whole time?

Eh?
Whats one more click got to do with it, you've got more clicking and typing to do when you're doing a proper search anyway.
The quick search is rough and fairly vague unless you already know the exact post you're after.

What do you mean 'click on search twice'?
I only click on it once...
And like Hotwired said, if you're too lazy to click a button one more time then you have to, you're not researching properly anyway.
I can't see how people missed that search for so long, it's right under the 'Forum' button, close to the Rules and Chat and also close to the Home and Profile buttons.

Oh, dur! Sorry, my mistake, i thought you where just talking about quick search. I never use the one you mentioned, just the quick search, me thinking it was the same thing. The simple search button should be re labeled advanced search

Same for me.
If I am using the search, I only really ever use the advanced one, mostly because I know what I'm looking for in advance, so I can narrow it down quite a lot by just searching for the poster I know said it - which is good, until I try looking for something JSR has done.
Arggh, 6000-plus posts!

Miscible, eh?
That's the correct spelling of the scientific term "miscible" (all too often swapped for the incorrect "mixable"), but my guess is you want "missed".
"Missable" isn't really a proper word, and when you say "easily missable", it should really be "easily missed".

i know im a noob at spudgunning but not all of us are "annoying". this is exactly what i call selective prejudice. even so everybody has been a noob at some point. i know that there are some people who dont listen but dont associate them with new people who are here because of a general interest in spudguns. i dont think this is an invasion but simply a growing interest in spudguns. so lay off the "noobs" who arent doing anything and focus on the unfortunate group of people who refuse to listen.
