The schrader fitting I have is the press on kind, so I just push the back of the cartridge down onto it. By adjusting the thickness of the rubber washer I could make sure it was sealing before opening (and more importantly, closing) the schrader.

That's a good idea, but would there be a problem with the fuel/air not being evenly mixed so you might not get the correct ratio? Since propane is heavier than air I would think it would just sit on the bottom of the tank? I suppose you could have a fan in there, but that could potentially set off the storage tank.

You could also just have two regulators and keep it separate. That would still be pretty quick.

Not sure if the extractor is going to happen, spent some time on it today and just got frustrated. And I'm itching to move onto a new cannon.

@daccel: if you use a computer fan it won't be a problem, because those are brushless(no sparks)

But why don't you just shake the tank for a sec before filling?

If you need a how-to, it's probably beyond your skill level and you should be aiming a bit lower.

Great work!

A lot of talk has been going on about this type of thing, but you built in and might I add in a very cool way.
Love the bolt action!!!

I'd like to see it with a .22 barrel as well.

No how-to. I'd be happy to answer specific questions though, would be great to see another one built.

Not in the competition because it's not new - been up for almost a year. And it wasn't what I'd call fully functional, no extraction and inconsistent ignition. Not insurmountable, but not a stage which I'd enter in a contest.

Current project is cartridge-less bolt action in .25, will that do? :) Other time commitments slowing it down though. Maybe will have it done by the anniversary of this one!

Thats a sick gun but are you planning on making the cartridges refillable? Also, you should devise a renewable ignition source if you want to re-use the cartridges. Good luck!

1.) I am pretty sure these cartridges are already reusable.
2.) This is a very old thread, check the dates before posting in threads.
