My Muzzle BRAKE is here... Hopefully this will help to tame the beast... it will be installed after the 1.5"x.188"wall DOM sleeve is sleeved onto the barrel tomorrow nite(to make sure the barrel is straight and to limit barrelwhip)...

Looks cool but a bit basic, you could have for example angled the porting backwards to make it more effective.

I think it's cool enough, there's a whole world of machining pain between straight holes and angled holes, at least for me with my pillar drill anyway.
With a muzzle brake, should the inside surface with the holes be flush with the barrel or can there be a gap? I'm getting bored with the intricate parts on my cannon and want to stick something fun on.

Er... mount the brake on an angled block? Surely that can't be too hard

If the brake is of a wider diameter than the holes, then propelling gasses can blow by the projectile and exit in line with the barrel instead of being diverted sideways and backwards which is where they need to go to mitigate recoil.
Allowing to gasses sideways simply stops them from producing more recoil, however diverting them back towards the back end of the launcher means they actively attempt to push the launcher forward, making the brake more effective.

I've got a trick or 2 up my sleeve for modding this before mounting...

My brother just did the "roughing in" so to speak...

I think the fact that I am solely responsible for 3.74% of all posts on this forum is more disturbing than any deviant sexual habits I might have
