Hehe, well...I have enough experience with my hybrid to allow relatively safe run of my tests. (Don't tell it to my mum, but there is an 8mm ball bearing embeded in the sofa... )
I need to say that i was wearing polycarbonate goggles, and ear protection. the barrel was (for the bearing) 1meter long, and i used long wood sticks to align the cans right. There were very little to no chances of things going wrong.

Still, pretty fast for a 300 fps footage

I have plenty of time coming up so i guess i'll be filming again in the woods this time. Maybe sniping beer bottle from 50-100 meters stay tuned for updates

I like this hybrid. Any chance to see a picture of a hole in a coin?

I tuned the burst discs a little...the thing is twice as loud now. My mom forbids me to fire it again in the garage, just because of the noise!
There are chances I might shoot a steel projectile at a coin. The main thing I wanna try is long range. Shooting beer cans from a distance , and at 1400 fps this should be fun ^^
Any suggestions as for what you'd like me to shoot? (and possibly film at high speed?)

Perhaps different projectiles into a clay block to see the cavity it makes?

That's not very professional, I made sure my 8mm bearing ricochet didn't remain in the house

Have you considered making a suppressor for it? Since it's a hybrid it should be much easier to suppress than a pneumatic, a big enough can and a whole lot of grease-coated steel wool and you're sailing Or is it the impact noise that's the problem?

It's the shots, with or without a barrel. Have you ever been in a car, and when someone closes the door very hard, it's like a rapid over-pressure that you feel in your body? When i shoot it's approximately the same, noise added. It's like a giant slap over your body, and canalisations in the house resound for 10 seconds... Even with ear protection it gives the impression of putting stress on my eardrums. I fire mainly at 7x and 8x and the new union makes a difference...(i increased the friction surface. )
I have an empty blowback gas bottle that i drilled. I need to turn into a suppressor. I'm worried the supersonic projectiles (and they almost all are...) won't make a big difference...

I think i'm gonna try 1" galvanised steel + fitting too... i'm afraid it's gonna be heavier on front.

And more over the things you wanna see out of the cannon, The clay thing will happen if i succeed in making a suppressor.

You can make a ghetto supressor in a few minutes out of a bottle or another cylinder of some sort. No need to be overly advanced in the start. You will get alot of ideas from making a simple version first.

That said, have anyone even suppressed a hybrid? It is on my list of things to do to UPGBH10x but the thing I want most is a piston valve.

I hope to get my clay tomorrow, along with propane so I can shoot through a tree and into the clay. I think shooting into clay is pretty exciting.

Ok, now there was a problem this afternoon, an o-ring was too used and i was leaking air... And the ignition has worn off... I'm gonna buy a stungun, a better one this time, and do it again. I have some fotage of this afternoon's shooting session, only 4 shots worked...I'l edit the videos asap.

Never seen one myself but as pointed out earlier, there is an advantage because of the thermal element not present in pneumatics so designs and techniques can be borrowed directly from firearm suppressors.

Well, depends on what you call suppresed, but Daccel made a rather large silencer for his mini piston hybrid... Looked pretty badass IMO 8)

Edit. Some thoughts.
I've been wanting to make myself a small silencer mainly for looks, but it wouldn't hurt if it reduced noise as well, what I was planning on doing is actually making a can that has "baffles" these baffles would basically be metal washers spaced out in a 1" PVC pipe, between each washer (1 or 2 inches) I could put some steel wool to absorb the heat.
BTW the washers would need to have a large enough hole in the middle to allow the ammo to pass safely through.

What do you guys think?
