Thats about right guys. When we had the time, we hadn't the skills and money. Now, older and wiser, we have the skills and the money, but time is more precious than either.
Ah, for the days when we were small enough that time was unimportant.

Also still lurking every now and then. I've got plans for this summer though, we'll see if the bank account holds up till then...
Oh, and SF will never die. It's too unique and contains an intelligent community unlike SOOO many other forums out there.

Ever since the terror attacks and bombings, my parents have become very anti gun and stuff, and think that drawing spud plans and building various cannons instantly make a person a bad terrorist... That is the reason y I am limited to very small builds, if I ever even get to purchase supplies

we r not dead just choked out of our hobby lol

I have no excuse, I've got a lathe, nearly got a mill, a gun license so loud noises are common, massive ranges, $400 worth of pipe fittings, good working knowledge of chemistry and physics, and I can't be arsed. Built a good half dozen QEV based launchers, a few combustions, and a couple of piston valves. All hardly worth posting because it's all been done before.
Trying something different these days, once I can get hold of some brass and HDPE

Long time no see, glad you're still around

That's a shame. You could point out that your armed forces have all manner of weapons but they are still the good guys, your choice of tools does not determine your philosophy.

my biggest limit is space, only thing id like to build is a largeish hybrid but can't shoot it anywhere safe and still be able to fix if something breaks
and cbf driving over to zeus's place.

I'm at school in the middle of a city, with a smallish apartment and no car. I don't have the space or the time right now to build anything. I'm sure I'll pick the hobby up again at some point in my life though. I'm consoling myself by building some water bottle rockets this summer.
Oh, and when I visit my family, I tinker around with some project each time: over the last two Christmas holidays I built a cartridge hybrid
cartridge hybrid.

I find the same people posting or answering questions which I am very grateful for ... so grateful for I made a donation, nothing gradious just a little something I thought would contribute to the over all maintenance of the site.
I think part of the problem is that as a guest viewing the site you can " lurk off " what ever information you want. I certainly dodn't think it should be made as a pay as you go either but certainly limit what " information " you do have to the memebership of the board and not to just anyone who has internet access.
There always seems to be 15 to 20 guests viewing, believe this or not they are a source of information as are the regulars.
My two cents,

My two cents,
Most forums don't allow you to view pictures or other uploaded files unless you are a registered and signed in member. I find this quite annoying, because sometimes those forums have extremely valuable information to me and I don't want to sign up just to see a friggen picture... so I'm glad we don't require that, because if I were someone looking for knowledge and examples of what to do and advice on how to do it, I'd want easy access to it. Just think about it this way- if our information is private and someone is too lazy to sign up to view it, they might build a cannon using a DWV cleanout cap and have their face blown off

Hmm, I was trying to remember the last time I pushed a tater through a pipe.. I think I might not have done this yet. Lots of apples, other fruit, soda cans, full and empty, marshmallows, gumballs, adding machine tape.. Oh wait, I remember, I launched some way back about 6 years ago when I visited the little town of Arlington. They had some taters..
