What markers have you worked with? If you're good with that stuff then I would definetly consider buying a valve from you. Good luck, and when it's all finished be sure to post it, I'd really like to see it.

Everyone seems to be under the impression that Joel is the spud-god. Make something better and prove them wrong!

I don't think anyone is. He sure as hell is good at what he does.

Mass producing spud cannons daily for several years has anyone, that comes on these forums with a what they believe to be a 'good idea', beat.

Yes, I dislike the 'don't f*ck with Joel' attitude, but at the same time give credit where its due. Hell he still uses some of the *old* images from the original SpudTech owner, on his product page! That was what, 5 years ago? Credit him because, who is kicking everyone else in the spud product realm ass, and yet to be surpassed?

well i think this would be a great idea.. if it turns out to be a good product i might by one myself in the coming months or a year from now or somthing...

also i have pictures of a supah valve the whole valve taken apart and everything if you need them... i got them off of this site a few months ago

Yes, Joel definately knows what he's doing, and seems to make a great product, he just cant seem to keep up with demand. I'm only cosittering making valves for now. WAY too much liability in selling fully built "spud cannons" ( I may make a few confetti guns & tennis ball/T-shirt cannons for select clients with the right legal paperwork and the$$$), and I'm not even going to think about making rifled PVC barrels (thats actually quite impressive). Also all of my projects will be pneumatic....combustables are just too dangerous.

Im in the UK which may seem a problem but I do have a chronograph and a desire to build a piston valved monster. I could also possably act as an agent for you in Europe.

what is everyone els's feelings on the 2.5" porting vs. the 2"?

Go with the two. Very few people have access to 2.5” pipe fittings.

Would it be possible to sell it with 3" threads and 2.5" porting. (otherwise, we just provide the relevent fittings with the order, no?)

I don't think thats possible. However, I now have a prototype with 2" threads and a 2.3" valve opening almost finished. since flow-rate to port-size ratios are exponential, this should offer noticeably higher output than a regular supah.

I'll get some pics of my prototype up soon. I still have a little work to do on it, but I'll finish it on wednesday.

There's a couple ways. You could upload them to photobucket or a similar site, then link to them. You can use the attachment button in a new topic, or you can edit a post, and it comes up with the attachment button. Those are just the two easiest/most common ways.

Then go to the bottom of that page and click browse. Locate the pic off your pc and hit 'add attachment'

ok, so I intentionally overpressurized the valve......at around 250psi
the back cap failed...BANG!!!! the pvc shattered at each of screw points. and it shot off like a big plastic bullet.
The 3" T however appears fine and held up great. I was filling from the back cap (using the exhaust port ), so the safety pop-off on my resivior tank(on the front end of valve) never saw the pressure the back-end saw....so It didn't blow.
Because of this, I will now be making my back caps out of alluminum, and they will have a safety popoff built in. It will incease the cost a little, but safety is worth it. the easy fix is to just not fill from the exhaust port, but who knows what the end user (you guys) will do with it, and I REALLY dont want to get sued for someone elses stupidity.
