Yeah I did try water, wasn't all that bad actually recoil wise, screwed my piston up. I think it did something to the lube and it stopped working, took it out and it was fine physically.

If you can get some Lithium Soap\Grease or some good Silicon based paintball gun lube you should be able to keep this thing in perfect working condition...

My last BST had a removable end cap, do I could relube\replace pistons if they stopped sealing or became sticky... When I first Installed the piston I used Smart Parts "Sleek" Silicon lube, and it hasn't dried out since then (years ago)...

I love the gun though... I need some more golf ball barrels :)

When you open the ball valve, doesn't air from the chamber leak out of there? And does air go around the back of the piston to get into the chamber? I just looked at the animation and I'm a little confused. I'm plannning on building a similar gun tormorrow. :)[/youtube]

The air leaks out of the pilot chamber yes, thats what makes the piston move back.

Yeah, i'd hold off on the piston valve until you understand them a bit more, it sucks wasting $30 of PVC fittings.

What animation did you look at? This <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/how-to- ... ml">one</a> or this <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/piston- ... ml">one</a>?

I looked at the 1st one before. I just looked at the 2nd one and that answered all of my questions. Thanks, I've been looking for that for a few days now.

Well now that this topic has been pulled up again i'd like to say how much i really like this gun. I especially like the configuration of the stock and the valve placement. I might build a similar one with a 2.5" porting piston to shoot tennis balls instead of gof balls.

Great gun :)

hey i got i question about the end cap near your piston is that drilled out and a brushing screwed in or what is it

by MrCrowley
No, it's glued to a piece of pipe that's also glued into the tee, this is what the piston moves in.
