ITWOST, I'm trying to decide what sort of gun I should build. I'm thinking of either a valved hybrid, a multi-shot hammer-valve, or a single-shot piston gun, in ~ .25 cal, in steel and/or copper. I decided I wanted something that acted a bit more like a firearm than a potato gun. I'm thinking of either pellets or some kind of nail/dart for ammo, so I'd need probably a break-breach action.
I'm torn between the simplicity and (relative) reliablity of the single-shot piston, the multi-shot capability of a hammer, and the potential power of a hybrid. But then, the hybrid's dangerous, the hammer might be underpowered, and the single-shot is a pain to pump up every time.
One of my goals for this project is to have something with the ability to give 'delayed gratification;' that is, I want something that is reliable and has a safety and doesn't leak too much, so I can leave it loaded for a while before firing.
Any feedback?

ITWOST I finished a marble QEV cannon for fellow Dutch spudder, wich acts
just like a fire-arm, giving major recoil when fired
empty at 35 bar.
With 1 meter of perfect 16 mm threaded marble barrel and 45 cm of 1 1/4" steel chamber, even I am scared of this thing.
The boom is unlike anything I have heard before..louder en sharper than even Overkill, but not as deep a boom.Very fierce..
Scary stuff...
Not the kind of thing I would normally build for myself, but as specified by the customer. It got me thinking...
I
would like one of those...

@BTB hmmm that chamber is huge... really if he is using 35 bar with it's way too big
does it have 3/4" QEV or 1/2" one
do you have some pics ? what kind of barrel is it.. ?
@hyldgaard lol my fridge compressor is ugly when compared with yours

IWOST I went out shooting guns with my buddies and they insisted on me bringing my GB cannon out. I had a full 14 oz tank and a nice bag of golf balls. Unfortunately I did not realize that my 2 9V batteries were dead so I had no chamber fan whatsoever. I never realized what a big difference that fan makes, especially when the propane is injected at the bottom of the chamber and the spark gap is in the middle of the chamber. I ended up having to resort to the old shake the gun method to mix the fuel and then attach the barrel quickly before firing. This worked out quite well as my buddies dad brought out his dirt bike so we could recover the golf balls that didn't blast out of site. All in all it was a fun day

Well, i Constructed a little miniature Combustion today...... its fun
I also dissasembled my air rifle. DAMN it has a long barrel. Oh, and looking down the bore made me nearly wet myself the other way. Rifling is just too damn sexy sometimes.
The reason for its dissasembely? I am consturucting a Supressor for it using JSR's methods. Should be fun
I also realized today how over-complicated i was making my cool little .40 cal sniper design. It will use a 3/8 in QEV instead of a Chamber Sealing Piston Valve. The way i see it, less work and more reliablity.

In the world of spuds today, I built the chambers and the barrels for the mauler valve that I bought from launchpotatoes.com. I built a 1", 1 1/2", and a 2", with a soda can barrel on the way.
I also built the pilot setup, so that when the valve gets shipped to me, i'll have to thread in three things then start shooting
Woohoo!

ITWOST....
Here's a preview of what i've been working on
Edit: The scope is far back because that's where i've 'calculated' the eye relief while maintaning comfort. I don't want to have to strain to have a good view through the scope when it's halfway up the forestock.

I found out what a can of green beans at 350 fps does to a toilet. A lot.

Crazy weather
It seems today every hr or so we have been getting a massive hailstorm. It only lasts for about 10min and then the sun is shining and the temp goes up five degrees all in one min later.
And remember that is happening like every hr.
Other than that I finished another gun
And it will be in the showcase section tomorrow or the day after that.
And i gave my 6mm a paint job, looks pretty sweet now.

You'll have to wait a while for the video (it will be worth the wait), but here is a preview photo for now.
