I would say make sure it's airtight, and also, what connector are you using, does it have a non return valve? Where are you measuring pressure, in the chamber or at the compressor?

It's as airtight as I can get it without replacing the union or using rubber sheet as a burst disc. The connector to start off with was a 1/4 BSP fitting which seals perfectly, and the pressure was measured at the compressor, but there's effectively no flow restriction between them. Now it's a shrader valve which I'll cut the spring and little pin off, so it's got no cracking pressure, and isn't depressed by the adapter.

I'll also mount the gauge and BV on the chamber, and change the chamber to either a 200mL 1" tee and fittings, or a 470mL chamber.

This is why I like the beto stype shock pumps, you can depress the schrader independently and know exactly what pressure you have in the chamber.

A burst disk in a union should not leak, do you have adequately placed rubber washers/o-rings?

Looking at picking up one tomorrow, they've got them at the local bike shop. Tried on Ebay, and they're all far more expensive than locally.

I tried the square union I have with a rubber washer, but the one I'm using now with a brass sealing face is perfect. If I give it a bit more pressure with the Stiltson, it seals perfectly, didn't see a single leak in 10 minutes at 35 Bar.

Luan is too soft for my taste, also doesn't have a very interesting pattern
I used tropical hardwood for this one, altough I don't exactly know what type

It would have been far cheaper to just buy a commercial gun case with eggcrate-foam, but I don't like the looks. The foam also traps moisture inside the case, wich is bad for the gun in it.

Anybody have an opinion on a good lightweight 250cc "cruiser".

Been looking at the Honda Rebel, V-Star 250, etc. Also was looking at the Suzuki S40 (not a 250, but still pretty lightweight).

Can't go wrong with Hondas for reliability, and Yamahas are great too. I personally wouldn't buy a cruiser that small, despite how sexy they might look. You won't get your cool card with one though, they're like fat girls, fine if no one finds out.

But take a few for a spin, see what feels good for you. I'm not comfortable on a low cruiser, tried out a Yamaha Virago, and I could keep it straight with my knees. Just a bit too small for me. And consider a 650 for a bit more grunt, still good for a new rider, but it'll shift a heavier bike a lot better, and they'll ride like a lighter bike.

Not looking to grab my cool card. Looking for a little bike that'll go 50 miles a day without complaint and cruising on my off days.

Well, if you don't want a cool card, and want a versatile bike, check iut adventure touring bikes. Comfortable, great on the road, easier to ride than a cruiser, and you can treat them pretty roughly without knackering them.

If you're vertically challenged, try a CB125, light, dirt cheap, but not suited to anyone who's tall or heavy, 160-170lb would be about it. I've ridden one, and it was laggy for me at 210 fully geared up. Plus my knees were around my ears. CBR250s are good to ride too, but not a long haul bike.
