Even as a skilled younger bloke I'm having trouble, I've been looking for work for some 18 months, only work I can get is scab labour (no unions, and I'm big on unions) at Serco (call centre). I doubt they'd appreciate my lack of patience, general manner and incredibly broad 'Strayan accent.

Right now I'm chasing mine work about 400km from me, which means relocating on no budget, I've got no car, $600 in the bank, no valuables to my name, no credit history, and no stable income, so I'll sleep under a bridge for the first fortnight until I get a paycheck.

Whereas I'm pushing fifty, have 20 years proven experience delivering on projects for multinational companies and in my last role had a personal sign-off limit of $2m and a project budget of $75m (sigh)

In the end I got tired of doing the whole resume cha-cha and broke free in the interview. Went slightly Rambo and made it plain it was my way or the highway as far as getting the new gig done. $200m expenditure over 24 months and I will deliver it. They both looked a bit shocked but 24 hours later I got the call.

I guess the moral of the story is bet on yourself, if you don't believe that you can deliver then why the F@#$ should anyone else ?

Haha I think that's something I can agree with. I wonder if in both cases it has to do with a change in behaviour (confidence) when you go from not having a job/gf to having one or that having a job/gf makes you more desirable. Or maybe both.

By the way, congrats on the contract evilet! I really haven't faced the same difficulties as many people here but I've applied for enough jobs to share a few of the same sentiments about the whole job hunting process.

I haven't seriously looked for a job for awhile now but when I do I might just hand around a CV that consists of a paragraph about why I would make a good employee. I'm sick of having to spend hours on a CV (considering I'm a student in my early 20s looking for a easy job with minimal experience or qualifications required) only for the employer to skim read the first page and not email me back. Then again, some people may take it as a sign of arrogance or apathy. But fûck them, they weren't going to email me back even if I sent them a proper CV

Wyz, not the sort of thing that should be discussed here - but what you want is the most accurate pellet that guarantees a hit on a critical area. It's useless having a super expaning/penetrating projectile if it can't hit its mark.

Not strictly true. A 0.177" pellet through a rabbit's head at 6 ft lbs will kill it instantly. A 0.50" lead slug from the Dragon Slayer at more than 30 times the muzzle energy hitting a leg will most likely not be fatal. Shot placement is *the* most critical parameter when it comes to taking live game.

Put some tin cans full of water at your chosen range and take some shots, if it goes straight through you'll be fine.

Brain is a small target...study the anatomy of the intended pest, and consider a heart/lung shot. Very effective.
