Sorry, beer testing evening

Today it's about half the PUI.
What the f*** happened here?
Howd'ya mean?
At work we need to have a very high production rate, so very agressive feed&speed rates while machining 304, 316 and 318 stainless.
that's why we have some very tough tools and taps.

An idea for a tapping machine:
Evening all
The rebuilt cave is almost back online and one of its new features is going to be an automated tapping machine.
The idea is to use:
AT Tiny micro controller
Small stepper motor
Some ACME thread rod
A couple of right angle plates
Drill a pilot hole in the material to be tapped
Place the material in the jig
Put a tap into the chuck on the end of the ACME rod
Use the stepper driven by the PIC to turn 3/4 turn
Back off 1/4 for swarf clearance
Repeat as required
I am thinking of a couple of push buttons on the PIC board, start, stop etc and probably a potentiometer linked to an LCD to govern depth.
Comments / suggestions ?
Cheers
