It's the same with children. Who is likely to behave better, a child allowed to do whatever it likes or a child that faces the threat of discipline?

I've not brought up many children, but my experience of dog training is that rewarding them for good behaviour produces better results than punishing them for bad.
Naturally, mild aversion is a useful tool, but actual fear doesn't produce a dog that tries not to misbehave, it produces a dog that tries not to get caught.

Applying these lessons to any future parenthood may prove interesting, but at least my children will be able to chase their own tails on command.

Oh s'il vous plait. Who are these holier-than-thou nice people? Why do we need laws and law enforcement for society to function? I don't believe in divine punishment or reward either, but there are quite a number of things I don't do because of potential consequences during my lifetime. I believe that makes me human. Besides, being nice is ultimately self interest anyway, it gives most people an endorphin boost.

You cannot seek equality and ask people to "man up" at the same time.

We as a society are either going to treat women's emotions with the same disdain we do for men's, or stop raising boys to suppress their feelings and toughen their skin. Trying to have it both ways is typical of the double standards you can expect from the "fairer" sex.

Double standards are fine as long as they are not applied to the same element. Going back to female athletes, we don't judge them by the same standards as male athletes - we acknowledge that men and women have different physiques, and that it would not be fair to judge one by the general standards of the other. If we are going to apply the same different standards to other aspects of society, then we should stop pretending that men and women are equal.

My friend ordered this pendant for hes GF as a christmas present.... Basically my friend recorded him saying her name, I took the sound graph, simplified it a bit and cut out a slice of x-pattern 42 layer damascus...

Tools used to shape this pendant: angle grinder with 1mm thick cutting disk, round and flat file to smooth out the angle grinder marks and then a nylon wheel on a drill to smooth out all the burrs, and then ofcourse some ferricloric acid...

Nope, the documentary quotes results of a study conducted on rats kept in a relatively small room, allowed to reproduce and provided as much nutrients as they wanted. As the population increased above a certain threshold rats started to exhibit all sorts of unnatural behaviour - elevated cortisol levels, homosexuality, aggression etc. After a while they just stopped reproducing - no interest in the opposing sex whatsoever. Perhaps feminism is just an example of such pathological behaviour.

Though I am still convinced that feminism steams out of unnatural sex ratio. Just watch the documentary it has some interesting interesting topics such as population growth, economy and finite resources. I had known it already but after watching it you just feel in the guts that the WWIII is inevitable.

Certainly when people are not fighting to survive every day the social dynamic changes.

Does anyone fly any FPV here? My bixler 2 has just been setup with a cheap HK 200mw 900mhz link, have to fly with a dx5e so not sure about interference. Will maiden tomorrow if the weather permits.

Most video links use either 1.2ghz or 5.8ghz - precisely because almost all RC transmitters operate on 2.4ghz (including yours) so that allows to avoid interferences. Not that I know much about RF and stuff like that but I do know that the lower the frequency the greater the range - so 1.2ghz is better than 5.8ghz and yours should be even better (well when comparing two transmitters of the same output power). There are disadvantages two - the lower the frequency the longer the antennae

I am going to buy an FPV setup in a few months - they're really getting quite affordable. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that FPV goggles are still very expensive (well at least here)

I don't recommend that you take it very far using a dx5. I've ran out of range in under 300 meters using a dx6i. I was however using a park-flyer diversity receiver. What receiver are do you have in yours?
Also, I highly recommend an FM or UHF system. Currently flying 72 mhz without any problems.

May be at different frequencies but the 900mhz vTx produces lower frequency harmonics that can interfere with 2.4ghz, Spektrum are buggers for it. I never plan to take it out far, under 500m so i should be ok. I'm using an OrangeRx R615 and i think it should be suitable for the distances i'm looking at. Cant afford a LRS, not even using an OSD, although i would like a mA level monitor. Maidened today with FPV gear on but not powered up (forgot batteries...), all was good, if a little windy for my liking.

Personally I think there are better boards than the PI... like beaglebone black or pcduino... The latter seems especially interesting if you're looking for something easier to interface and program

After researching some more this morning, I'd have to agree. While most SBC's require nonfree firmware for things like video acceleration or wifi/bluetooth, Raspberry Pi required it to even boot. Thinking of going with the BeagleBone Black.

EDIT: forgot to mention this is going to be a web server. Going to make a wooden base to house a 5v power supply and network switch (along with ricer crap like LED's and maybe an aerator to run something like this.
