For now i have my fueling method "down pat", however your idea would be perfect for an even smaller hybrid. BTW the purpose of this gun was to extract maximum power from a small capacity. Anyone know if it is the smallest operational hybrid on the site?

Hmm... that really depends. There are several so-called "hybrids" made from pill bottles and such were people inject fuel, provide a continuous spark, and pump in air until the f:a mixture is correct and it fires. As such, they would be "operational" hybrids, but they have no clue as to the mixture they're firing at if they don't know how much fuel they used.

EDIT - it would appear Chaos HAD an operational hybrid about as small as yours.

I CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!
This was fired from the Brass Bruiser at a 7x mix, the ammo was a modded Pimpin Ammo round. I made the head out of an old "noga" bit, they are made from High Speed Steel.
Boy i was happy when i saw that the hole actually "penetrated".
Now if you will bow at my feet! :headbang:

I agree, however my goal is to have the projectile go clean through the plate. Any ideas?

In a word - velocity :)

Your projectiles already have good hardness and sectional density, so the logical solution for more penetration is to throw them harder.

What are the chances of doubling chamber size and barrel length?

That could be a possibility, however how much more oomph do you predict

Wow..I'm liking that power! So how long till we see a video of this in action? Will it happen?

Try adding a longer barrel to harness all the energy seeing as you already have the chamber and fueling method down pat, that should add a bit to the velocity whihc will help in the search for more penetration!

I think a sound barrier should be broken by a certain aussie soon  .

This makes me want to make a hybrid...was it pretty easy to make? How long did it take you? Its crazy that it exits though a piece of metal like that...amazing. You should give me plans.

I'm not to big on hybrid performance but if you manage a 50% increase in velocity, that's a 100% increase in power, and lengthening the barrel and increasing chamber size is a sure way to boost velocity.

edit:

In the etiquette post you said this:

One of the rules was:

9. No requesting of plans is allowed unless stated otherwise. If the builder has plans, he will most likely post them for you.

There are hundreds of plans already on the forums waiting for you to find them.

And now, in this topic:

I will give you plans in exchange for your first born.
That's if you are not a homosexual, that would make the contract null and void

Edit: Sorry duelers, a vid should happen in about 2 weeks
