My French is very rusty, but even then, I'm 95% certain that a better translation of "Whatever will be, will be" to French would be "Ce qui sera, sera".
...I think, anyway.
I only got a B in GCSE French, which I did 3 years ago, and haven't gone to any pains to keep in practise. Who needs to when you can just shout slowly and loudly while gesturing?
(By the way, I'm kidding... I at least try to make sure that when going abroad that I know enough of the language to be able to apologise for not knowing any more.)

Yes, but so was:

maybe its spanish then, i do both so i should really know
although i do know 'que sera' exists in spanish, but i'm pretty sure it has a different meaning.

They've started now. The first beam was about an hour ago.
There was a quote on the radio from the live broadcast which made me laugh:
"We've stopped the beam. I don't entirely understand why, but it's something to do with a dump."
It's not really as funny in text, it was mostly the way it was said.
