Nope. Audacity is both free and workable, no reason not to use it.
Also, I'm reliably informed that audio editors made out of bollocks are nothing like Audacity.

Goldwave is also free, if you know where to look. And it simply works better. Once I tried Goldwave, I never went back to Audacity.

Yeah... I don't rip off software. I did crack a limited trial ONCE, because licences for the full version could no longer be bought.

Actually, to contribute a little, I made an attempt to try and replicate the style of the Battlefield 2 gun sounds video earlier, cutting together various spudgun videos I found (that didn't have sound tracks).
The results... a start, but I'm not really a musician.
I'll try again some other time.

I think its great for a first time. Most of the beats ran together pretty good so i give it a thumbs up, as well as the first video.
