Practically so doesSwitzerland, I think I know where I'd rather be :D
Let's start our own micro-nation.
Yes!

I'm the minister of binary adhesives, no question :P where? We could invade Poland but that's a bit cliche and surely POLAND_SPUD would throw fridge compressors and relatively slow marbles at us. Palestine is already taken, hmmm... perhaps the German government is willing to donate Peenemünde?

Jack would have to be voted off the island as the slow, slightly exothermic curing of epoxy could betray our location to the authorities through thermal imaging.

A .22 LR, two 12 gauges- a pump, and a double barrel.

Australia sure is a crap place to own guns. If dad died the police would come here the same day to take the guns- Australia is that nervous about it.

 This made my day!
Flying fridge compressors.
Well, I could buy him out as I am about to machine something for him...

However Peenemünde seems great! I'd rather have an island (sealand!), but a peninsula seems okay too.
The plant for production of liquid oxygen lies in ruins at the entrance to Peenemünde.
Imagine the pieces of pipe we might find there! :D
Oh they also seem to have an old runway, could come in handy.

Yes, to run away from exploding epoxy fragments :D

That will be enough thread jacking. Wanna build a small island, go by way of www.theopia.com. I'm sure you can find some supplies from the 'links' thread there.

D_Hall, did I miss something???? Not a Winchester in the bunch?????

Do you have a favorite gun manufacture?

Yes, you missed something. The Winchester Model 70.
Do you have a favorite gun manufacture?
Nope.

I'm not even prejudiced against the low end manufacturers. Just like cars, there's something to be said for cheap and functional just as there's something to be said for luxery. They all have their place.

As evidence, I'll point out that I've got the Davis P-32 which retailed for just over $100 in the late 80s to the S&W Model 41 which goes for around $1300 today (remember, that's a .22).

relatively slow marbles at us

nothing special... just a simple Tfor my semi auto mk III... I couldn't build it with standard fittings and I don't think it's the best idea to build it out of epoxy

@D_Hall & CYANIDEGENOCIDE
wow I am jealous

Wish I could show you guys my family's collection, but most of them are in the safe that's right behind me. To give you an idea of how many, not only do I not consider OP's post to be 'a lot of guns', but the safe itself is larger than our fridge.

Yeah, it's never gonna move.

To give you an idea; 14+ 1911 frame handguns, including some 2011's
Bushmaster AR
IMI Galil (Built by a buddy of my dad, who happens to be Israeli special forces)
Ntnl Postal Meter Co. M1 .30 Carbine
Kimber .45 ACP CCU
A couple of Henry .22's
Remmington 1100
Benelli M3
Two .410's
Colt Python
Two Ruger 22/45's and a Mk. II
Makarov PM
Various Hi-Powers
A few revolvers
Two XD9's

I can't even remember all of them, and that definitely isn't them. Sad thing is I haven't gotten to shoot in six months, so my first paycheck is going straight into the ammo locker (yes, we have an actual locker for ammo).

Wish you guys could see it, it's an awesome collection. Can't believe I'm gonna inherit it all some day.

I have to say, I find the "reasons" for the 2nd amendment somewhat questionable. I'm of the opinion that the fact that the population is armed doesn't often factor in the government's decisions.

Also, I think "they're to keep the government in line" is an excuse - if I were a betting man, I'd probably put money on the fact that few gun owners actually own guns with that (honestly) in mind.

I'm a little sceptical, but let's see a photo of your collection then.

We have a 12 gauge Winchester 1300 field master with a 3 inch chamber, an AR-15 with all the bells and whistles, a Ruger 10-22 all weather model, a Chinese AK-47, a 12 gauge single shot Spartan brand by Remington model 150 with a 3 inch chamber and a really nice bolt action 22 whose manufacturer I cannot find.

Edit: I forgot the Ruger LCP .380 auto pistol and the Springfield XDM .40 Smith and Wesson.
