Yes.

And here's a second line of text so that the forum software doesn't complain about short posts.

D. Hall,
When a customer commissions a ballistics test with a gun such as vera, is it likely the test footage and data will be released into the public domain, or is it strictly 'between us and them'?

I'm guessing it varies depending on the customer, but is it a common occurrence based on your experience so far?

Generally it's completely up to the customer. We give them the footage and they do with it...whatever they want.

And it's very rare that it gets released. I've only worked on one test that got released.

Figure $5k just to show up. After that, it all depends on what you're trying to do....

Link doesn't work for me.

Edit: Looks like the entire dtic.mil site is down. I assume the link will probably work when it's back up.

Edit: I can access it through a proxy. Strange.

Works for me, could it be a kiwi problem? Love that site by the way, ypu get to know about awesome projects like this: http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2003gun/steel.pdf

Also, you get to act all surprised that the Chinese seemingly base their military projects around the same concept!

Strange, it lets me access a cached version of that link but, unsurprisingly, there isn't a cached version for David's link.

I think someone at some point in this video might have used the phrase "world's most powerful potato gun".

Based on a muzzle energy estimate it could be a close one.
Well, if the potato actually survived that is. ;)

By the way, if you were looking for a way to spread vera around, getting FPSrussia to come over would probably be about as much publicity as you're ever going to get.
