I'll follow you whenever I get the chance

It would be nice to find a technical job in Canada, I start to dislike the Netherlands more and more..
I can confirm that, seen a lot of genuine hotties in the few days I've been here. Haven't actually been able to determine their character though, if they're into caring emotional types I'm screwed
What nationality do they look like mostly?
If they are like the French girls I've met you should have a very good chance of hooking up with some
Winter promises to be harsh but if that's the price to pay, so be it
Harsh winters are nice, much better than the rainy ones we have here.. snow and ice can be a hell lot of fun hehe[/quote]

According to
this, the average "low" is a paltry -18C...a toss up whether you even need to plug the truck in...you DO have a block heater on it right?

I have only seen snow twice in my life and it was only about -2 degrees Celsius for a day.

. I am so jealous I could cry.
-2 degress ..... hoooohhhahaha radial tires freeze square to here they sat over night in parts of canada ....

Carry a BIC lighter to heat your keys so they'll go in frozen locks!

Cheers

while it was a big deal to quit my job, sell most of my earthly possessions and leave my loved ones behind, I have to say that already being a Canadian citizen as well as having LeMaudit who is going out of his way to help me settle down is making the transition very smooth.

So damn polite, you want to punch them in the face

the last flight from Toronto to Quebec was a nightmare, with the plane rerouted to Ottawa because of fog, then back to Toronto, then having to board another flight several hours later and to find that your luggage would arrive on the subsequent flight... any other citizens would have started a riot, but not the Canadian passengers... incredible.
I am so jealous I could cry.
That was my position when I started this thread. I returned to epoxyland and wondered what the heck I was doing in that sh!thole. Ah well, I'm here now
I'll follow you whenever I get the chance
You'd be welcome

Sort of French... but not really... we'll see

women are the last thing on my mind at the moment to be honest.

I started 2013 in Siberia where temperatures went down to -35 celcius on some nights, so its not a complete surprise, but i admit never having had to start a car in such conditions.
lol when we are at the auto dealer as we approached the truck the guy started the engine with the key fob, my jaw dropped and I turned to him "SOLD!". He looked at me with a bemused "Silly European, all cars have this here!" sort of look hehehe

Forget the bic lighter. When it is cold the pressure drops and they don't work. Use a Zippo instead in cold weather.
One place I was, I started my car with a manual transmission. Placed it in nutral (two hand manuver) and let out the clutch. This stalled the engine. That was cold.
I'm glad to be in a local with milder winters.

Glad you arrived safely Jack, and I'm certain you'll enjoy the wonders of the west haha.
I'm considering a move myself, I have a reasonable financial friend in Phoenix who's offered to shout me a ticket over to see how I like it, also the opportunity to OC all day every day, and a good business proposal (oddly enough in JSR's line of work, sorta).

Hahaha, with the current crisis the way it is, you'd be mad not to start selling 80% and stripped AR lowers. And let's face it, who doesn't want a $20k CNC setup in a few years.
And expect a visit sometime next year, same goes for you Velocity3x

AR lowers are restricted items in Canada, considered a black weapon ... but if JSR went to Quebec City to work ARs .... mmmmmm
I hope I am on the same page when we speak of AR15s?!

eh...cast lowers would be junk...from forgings or bar stock for the quality minded. :headbang:
But why bother with an AR when you can derive an AK from a shovel and some "bits"?
