A pull out hook huh?
I can put a picture to that.
A spring loaded blowgun sprung to open and held back with a pin.
Pull the pin, the blowgun lever snaps to the open position and pilots a small, short barreled pneumatic cannon that blasts baby powder over you.
Not a bad idea noname

noname wrote:Hah! I have beaten your idea. Gimme a week to make and post it, it's even simpler, activated by a hook that you pull out, and it's more compact. And still in the under $10 range! I'm going to make at least 4 of these.
No one ask for a diagram, I WON'T make one.
Patience is a virtue.
Sounds good. Can't wait.

Sounds like you’re planning on throwing a full-blown cannon at people…
Why not make a swivel gun, or an off route mine? Anybody considered making a bushmaster for paintball? And what bout the good ole IED (cheap paint grenade modified to be triggered be a tripwire)?
But since y’all want a hand grenade, try using a triggered burst disk and a “Ketcham” (Google it) style hand grenade.

I googled it and kept getting results for some book.

My grenade is done!
Except I need to go to Ace again to pick up some sheet rubber that's more flexible than the stuff I have now. It works, but the diaphragm flexes back only about 3/16."

So does it have an effective delay?

I need a smaller hook with less threads. The grenade usually goes off when I'm about 2/3s done unscrewing the hook, which is about 3 seconds.
So the delay is good, I just need to put the hook in not as far, but then there's the chance of it getting shot out at me at 120 psi (that's no fun!).
I'll get a couple pics tomorrow, or sometime this week.

Ketcham’s grenade was a civil war era hand grenade that looked a lot like a NERF pocket football (the kind people use for anti-amour rounds in paintball) it had a cast iron body and fins made from pasteboard, it had a nipple ( a short piece of pipe that a percussion cap slips on) on the nose, a cap slipped over the nose that gave it a greater chance of striking the primmer when the grenade hit the ground, when the grenade was thrown and it hit the ground the cap was forced in to the percussion cap which in turn detonated the grenade, my explanation most likely sucked, as they usually do… give me a minute and I’ll se if I can’t get a picture.
Edit:
Found a
page that has a pic.

I lied.
I was bored and thought I might as well make a diagram...

Yes, well, it’s nice… I guess…
But here’s my design:

grey-activation pad
blue-pressure chamber
pink-blow gun addached to the activation pad
red-moded sprinkler valve
green-baby powder
wow... im speechless. you know that someone would have to be pretty stupid to walk right up to it while youre waiting to pull the trigger.
you could easily make a land mine like that one person said with my idea too.
umm yeah im pretty sure that you step down on the
pressure activation pad so you dont stand there and pull the trigger......
yay the billionth person smarter than a damn monkey!
god judgement arms i'm srry for saying u were in a bad mood before with this guy..he's liek a 4 year old.
but yes steping on the pad activates it.

Does your little insignia mean I can call you JA?
Good design also, but I think that type of grenade would be better suited to be fired from a grenade launcher. It would also be a much harder build (in my opinion).

Noname, NO it does not mean you can call me “JA” it’s a logo, not a nickname. It won’t hurt you to type it all, I type your name.
As for my design, if I didn’t have so many other projects, i.e. my paintball long gun and my auto-cannon, I would make one, it’s not that complex. And it would work fine as both cannon round and hand grenade.

Paaiyan, are you even going to ask before you copy MY design?
