Yeah. I'm going to see if I can grab some 1/4" ID tubing from Radio Shack later. I tried to use the 1/2" that I used for the valve body...

But so far it seems that the other parts I made are just fine.

I must agree, of all the pieces I've made on a drill press, I think I like this one the most.

File, hacksaw blade, and sandpaper.

It looks a bit short compared to the last one, although it is hard to tell because you didn't put anything for scale.

I just use a good friend's drill press. It's probably a lot slower to make something on a drill press than on a lathe, but the end products can be rather similar.

The grain size on the wood is about the same

It's shorter than my epoxy attempt, but the section with a greater diameter is ~.25"

Should put a quarter or something by it next time... if you have that kinda cash layin' around

My next door neighbor has a drill press but I wouldn't wanna bother him to let me use it.

Became frustrated with epoxy spark plugs, and discovered that 16mm spark plug is only $2.11 with tax. Purchased, ground, first stage of epoxying is curing as I type. I put a thin layer over the outside, then I'm going to heat and pour some inside the fitting (and hopefully into the threads) for better integrity under pressure.

I think I'm in the market for a non-piezo ignition system. Ideas? I have a camera flash circuit setup, but I haven't been able to make it arc...

if you go to a bike parts store, and get a cr10ek spark plug they have 1/8'' npt threads

Hmph. Every guy I talked to said they only knew of metric-sized spark plugs.

CR10EK plugs are 10 mm not 1/8 NPT.
So do not call them 1/8 NPT.
1/8 NPT is 27 tpl threads per inch. 1/27 = .037037 inches
10mm x 1mm pitch. 1mm = .0393701 inches.

They are close but not the same. Difference of .002333 inches.

technically they are not 1/8" NPT but they are pretty damn close

I threaded mine into 1/8" BSP, which is even smaller than NPT

I threaded it in out out a few times and voila... I managed to thread them all the way

Well that little tidbit would have helped a lot... it doesn't do any good to ask for a NPT sized spark plug when what you actually want is a 10mm one...

Gun freak, just make a jig and your own drill press. It would be easy for you to do, seeings how you make everything else look so freakin easy!!!

Camera flash circuit works again, but with the switch connected, the flash was almost deafening. Testing switch then transformer. Watch this space...

Switch does not work.

Searching for a BBQ igniter...
