I would go for the bigger barrel, it widens the variety of ammunition you can shoot, and you can always use sabots to fire smaller ammunition.
Say you're shooting 0.5" bearings. With a wider barrel and lightweight cup, you can probably fire three such projectiles at the same velocity you're currently hitting. Who needs pinpoint accuracy when you've gone buckshot
With what projectiles though?The muzzle velocity will drop from 1,100 fps to 670 fps, though........
