are you talking about black hose that connects the CAP to the bottle of paint ball that you see on the video?
It is a flexible "Manba" that are used in paintball and is also resistant to high pressure

A lot of artist tend to use cardboard to make prototypes of their projects and when they are happy they then use the project material. Takes a little more time to build templetes first, but that in turn gives you practice for what your doing.

For fun and transporting I cut the barrel, as I have a big gun and a gun!
top alignment is no problem of accuracy
