forgot to glue the end cap on my first pnuematic and held it while i was pumping it up it got to 50 psi and the cap flew off and hit me in the nuts

there's a vid from someone who's firing a spudgun... and it recoils it too in his nuts... very hilarious

@pat: Your dad was scared of you making a combustion that can produce 60 psi max, in yet he didn't mind you building a cannon using sublimating dry ice which can create pressures in excess of 800psi in a chamber that would be very lucky to hold 100psi? This seems kind of odd for some reason...

You're lucky that you still have all of your limbs if you made a cellcore PVC cannon using dry ice.

thats the same with my dad. He refuses my building of combustions, but allows me to build pneumatics, with 200+ PSI! Youve got to love it!

My parents refuse to hear any mention of the word "Propane", and although they're concerned about pneumatics, they seem to have little concept that what Ragnarok and I do with air pressure is massively more powerful.

Its this misconception that "gas" is dangerous and lethal, and names like "propane" and "mapp gas" sound so impending and deathly; whereas you think of air as life-giving, good and harmless; even though air is in fact a gas too And pressurized air is more powerful/ potentially more dangerous

On the topic of cannon accidents, I shot my brother's friend in the ass with my the deceased airsoft rifle from about a foot away because I though it wasn't loaded.
It was only at 150 psi though, so it didn't penetrate his jeans and skin.

Was ramming a potato down my piston cannons barrel and my ram rod pushed the piston open launching the ramrod(threaded steel rod over my wall and onto my neighbors roof.

Which is why you should never pressurize before loading...

Propane isn't truly explosive, but that is the main reasoning behind it, yes. But yet, I am still trusted with a blowtorch.

I may have posted this here before. If I did, sorry. I built a combustion cannon using propane as the fuel. This was the first time I had shot it with a ball valve on the rear to let in fresh air. I made two mistakes. First I let the rear rest against my leg. The second, I didn't close the ball valve. I hit the trigger and there was a big boom, then pain. It blew a big hole in my sweats and pieces of the fan hit my leg. I had a burn about 8" across. I had a bunch of people watching me and talking to me. I guess I got distracted. Here is a short film clip. You can see the hole in my sweats and pieces of the fan on the floor and in the bucket of golf balls.

A little but the flame did the most damage. My wife thought it was funny. She was inside looking out. She said I had a funny look on my face and smoke was coming out of my sweats.
