A thin reservoir around the chamber, connected to a pump and then a coiling of 1/4" copper tubing in front of a fan, should be able to do the job. Keep in mind that it'd still get pretty hot, though. 8)
I have considered water cooling - it has some problems, so I'm wondering if anything else could do better though.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

I believe you mean P1/T1 = P2/T2 ?

Probably would need a very high pressure to make this work. You could make a pressure-rated enclosure around the gun on the "low" side of a freon pump to use the same basic principle, with higher efficiency.

EDIT: what's with my damn formatting today?!?!?

Air cooling would probably be most simple and still be fairly effective. Just have some fins coming out radially from the chamber and a fan to blow across them. You could have some type of heat insulator around the outside of the fins so you can hold onto it.
