well i have what could be considered a sniper rifle (with a scope ) but no ammo... so i thought i could ask you for some help. i need some dead on accurate ammo for a 1" barrel, any ideas? also i have a bi-pod that i want to attach but i don't know how i would do it. it cam off a giant AK type airsoft gun made its made from metal, usually it would clamp onto the barrel (which was about 5/8) but it wont work in this case becuase the barrel is about double the size and when you operate the bolt the whole barrel rotates about 90 degrees. so any idea how i would mount something like that.

anyway heres some pics i have only dry fired it so far and im missing the piece that will hold the trigger in place (3/4 45 degree elbow)

you can use this method but make them bigger to fit 1 inch.

i think pyromaniac (or really A-98 ) has the right idea, you need some sort of dart. that design looks really cool, maybe you could scale it up with some slightly thicker plastic from some other sort of container or maybe the same exact thing would work, and you could use a large nail rather than the hanger for more strength/penetrating power, since you have a 1" barrel. would there be any way you could "borrow" an arrow from your patrick and modify it to use in the gun? or actually, i could give you a couple arrows if you want, maybe if you had something behind an arrow with something to hold the front straight...

meatballs - well its got a bolt action in it so i was kinda hopping the ammo would be like 6in or less in length so i could use it (considering i spent most of my time making it) besides the crossbow is for shooting arrows

For accurate ammo from a smoothbore, you need something stable and consistent. The latter requirement basically excludes anything you make yourself, and since finned projectiles are hard to come by, you want something spherical - so the obvious suggestion is make a 3/4" barrel with a much shorter stroke bolt action and use marbles

A little off topic but, can you tell me how you made the bolt action?

But to add onto the post above a bit, you cold make a "sleeve" to go inside the barrel to fit smaller ammo. For example, sand a piece of 3/4 pvc down (on the outside) to fit/and shoot a marble accurately. And if the barrel is rifled, then it'll be a straighter shot obviously. I hope that helps a bit.

well its a modified version of one i found on this site from like 05 or something <a href="http://members.aol.com/sph911/spud/breech.html">here is the link</a> any way i added a few layers of duct to the barrel so as it slide back it wouldn't jam and removed the need for the rubber washer in favor of a modified bushing

and for ammo i think marbles would be your best bet or sinkers with a tooth pick glued into the hole (this stabilizes them in flight a bit better)

Also if you hot glue cotton wool to the back of a marble or sinker, it offers both airtight wadding and stabilizes in flight as well.

With a smoothebore, like Jack said, it will be a tad difficult getting the accuracy you desire. Either way, you did a very good job with the cannon. (Also, it's spelled "whole" not "hole")

Maybe you can mount the bipod onto the stock, just make something out of pvc so it hooks on with hose ties. I made one once, it wasn't adjustable, but i just heat bent 20mm pvc pipe to fit around the chamber and come down as legs. But it could easily be converted into adjustable, just sleeve some pipe into it and add some notches.

Don't those bags of marbles you buy also come with two 1-inch marbles in them? (called "shooters":))
