Auto Refilling Airsoft Firing Chamber

Well, this is my idea for an airsoft firing chamber...
The main tank causes it to fill until the pressure is equalized, then because of the neutral pressure, the spring puts the ball bearing back into place, sealing it shut. At this point, you should be able to disconnect the main tank and this one would remain pressurized. When you pull the trigger, the filling cycle starts again. YAY!!!

so you are putting a check valve between you air supply and tank. sounds like a good idea.

Yes, this would work as long as your home-made check valve is air tight. Finding the right strength spring may be a challenge.
I'd consider just using a store-bought check valve.... But your theory is sound, and should work.

i'd say try it out and see how it works. it wound't be all that hard to make, and it should work great.

Hi,
That´s a check valve. It was invented quite some time ago...
Now I don´t know so much about airsoft things, but remember that if your firing valve does not close automatically, the check valve will not help preventing loss of air from your storage chamber long after the projectile has left. There are solutions for this; for example, you could work with the idea of having a rod between the firing valve piston and the left hand end of the filling valve spring... when the piston is open, it will push the filling valve closed, and the spring will also push the piston back to re-seal.
It will probably not work at first try, but heck, great designs never do, and good designers don´t give up.

Omg, for some reason it never occurred to me that I could just use a check valve when I was designing this... Oh, and I just simply wouldn't hold the trigger down after firing...
EDIT: I like your idea dongfang, because I just realized if I were to try to fire continuously with semi-auto, the gun would waste air if I didn't wait the proper time to pull the trigger again, and possibly go automatic unless it was bolt action, which would defeat the purpose of semi-auto... I was thinking of just using a modded 3/4" sprinkler valve for the gun, because it would have better flow than blowgun obviously, and I don't want to make a small piston. Unless you guys can come up with a better solution... And, unless I made the connection between the firing chamber and the reservoir small diameter pipe, it would possibly empty the whole tank at once, which could cause problems... Suggestions?
