I am thinking about having a contest on my site. I am low on funds so there won't be a prize just getting you gun on the front of my site. i was thinking about everyone having to make the same target and shoot from the same distance and then judge on accuracy and destruction. so i was wondering who would be interested in competing just to see if there would be enough to have it.
i am not sure what kind of target we should use or the distance. if anyone has ideas please tell me.

I'll do it. I just finished tinkering with my sprinkler valve pneumatic.

I don't think it will fly. Too easy to cheat.
If the goal is to direct traffic to your site, I don't think that will work either.
No offence, but the site just reeks of highschool html class with the giant fonts and cursor trail and everything.

it is not just to get people to come to my site. i just thought it would be fun to have a contest. why would someone cheat when there isn't a prize.

because people don't like to lose.

Everyone would have to provide a video of the target and the gun being fired at it
I am thinking about 1/2in plywood as a target and to prove your gun's strength you can use multiple pieces. i am thinking either 75 or 50 feet away.

Everybody should hault speaking of this it's simply advertizing another website from spudfiles untill pcguy has posted his permission here. It usely takes 24 to 48 hours for a reply, unless you happen to catch him online. I'll say it one more time, read the rules.

Well, you could always hold it here.
(I don't really think anyone will cheat, but it's hard to tell)
Here's something to think about, maybe you'll find it helpful;
The reason contests on spudfiles are as popular as they are is because it gives people an opportunity to try new ideas and build something new to compete with others.
While a "best accuracy" contest could work, you may need to throw in some other element that requires ingenuity on the contenders part to make it more interesting.
Like:
"Best accuracy with lightest projectile", or "best accuracy with an AA battery", "Tightest grouping BBMG" or something. Think about it.
Currently I don't have a sniper's gun of any sort, so I'll probably be sitting this out unless I can build something soon.
Why dont you draw up a target in mspaint that fits a standard sheet of paper and have everyone print it out?

Couldn't I just build the biggest gun and obliterate the entire target then accuracy would be a mute point as I'd have hit the bull's eye? (As well as everything else)

^^Now that would be a contest: Who can build the bigger gun.

If that contest involved a prize,
I would probably build something for it.
