Hey everybody, I've been reading spudfiles for a couple of months. From browsing the forum i've seen that this forum is nicely run. Anyways this forum is for new cannons, so without further adieu;

Iron/Steel/Copper Sprinkler Valve Pneumatic:
Image
  • 1-1/4" Galvanized Steel Tank
    3/4" Connections/Nipples
    3/4"-1" Elbow
    1"\(25mm) Orbit 91101
    3/4"x23" Copper Barrel

Full Shot

This is my second working pneumatic, my others were all copper, and sweated, but we're unfortunately left outside :?

My running pressure is generally 115PSI (10BAR)
My Ammunitions include: Grapes, AA Batterys, Baby tomatoes, markers.
All components are Pressure rated for 115 Psi, except the blowgun
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

P.S: I appologize for crappy webcam pictures, better them then nothing.

Cool gun(s)! If I were you, I'd research piston valves, and make a metal one for this gun. If you did that, you would be able to use pressures like 400 psi.

Sweet guns. I love the rifle style look you can get by using elbows. You shold make a piston valve for it! Piston valve=more power!
EDIT: noname beat me to it!
Summer Projects:
CO2 tank hybrid: Gotta fix the meter :(
Cane gun: Needs a pilot/fill setup
1.5" piston valve gun: Almost done

Could you get a shot of the entire cannon? looks pretty sweet.

Full body shot has been added, Thanks for the comments guys.

@noname: I've researched piston valves for a while, and i'm planning a metal 1" in the future, however, building your own valve requires definite planning, and I am going to take my time, for this gun, the speed and volume dump of the valve are plenty enough, thanks for the reccomendation.

I too would recomend upgrading to a piston valve. Even though I'm having terrible luck with my current metal piston valve (although nothing's blown up yet :D ) it seems quite a shame to have such a nice gun have such an unworthy valve. Sprinkler valves can only take a fraction of the pressure that a piston valve can, and the sprinkler valve is only holding the gun back from being able to take more pressure and thus, be stronger.
Regardless, it's still quite a nice gun! Do you plan on posting damage pics anytime soon?

Perhaps get a QEV for this thing? I'm sure they can take a load more pressure than a sprinkler valve. After that you should get a shock pump to get up around 300+

Oh yeah? Well look what I can do ,'.,.'',.,.'',.',.',.',.',.',.'.,',.',.',.',.',,'.''.',',.','.',.',.',.'.,'',.',.'.,',.'.,

The blow gun can handel alot more pressure than indicated....."they" just say 90 psi or what ever..... for liability

I agree with the liability on the blowgun pressure,
currently the sprinkler valve is fine, I have yet to experiment with qev's. I'm currently planning on a 2" piston, only problems are:
Budget (saving for car)
Must be in a metal housing
withstanding 200psi

the planning i'snt as hard as actually implementing it, but it will be finished eventually.

thanks for input guys, hopefully i'll have a new cannon on soon.
