BAAC (Bad A** Air Cannon)

Well this is not my cannon, but it is a friend of mine who helped me understand aircannons more. I dont think he is a part of this website because i havent seen this cannon on the showcase yet but it is pretty nice i'd say. :) It is a uses 3 ball valves, one for the releasing of the air into the barrel, another for the pnuematic cylinder, and another th connect the two chambers. How this cannon works is that you press the blowgun and that actuates the pnuematic cylinder, and then that pneumatic cylinder acuates the 2 inch ball valve which the launches the projectile. I think that this system works well and is very intersting and i think it works better than a ball valve with a spring becuase it opens faster. So here are some pics!!!

Wow, that is pretty interesting! I have never seen a ball valve actuated pnuematicly before! I like it. :P

There are a lot of dwv fittings on the thing, other than that it is pretty cool. Tell your friend not to charge it over 50 psi or his gun might come apart in the middle were all the dwv fittings are.

It seems overly complicated without any benefits...
It is configured in an awkward way....

But I can't argue with that recoil!!

Nice video!

Agreed but I like it :D

I agree with both of you, i think you could get better with a piston valve but im guessing that the actuation of the pneumatic cylinder gives it a nice recoil :)

When you work in quality control/assurance, you can't afford it ;)

Well its not my arm that will be - :D but i will be sure to tell him, whenever convenient :) Yes i definitely agree i do like the die shcrader cap, makes the cannon seem more personal. But hey i dont think anyone can brag about your cannon having something special. This not only has style but also has a pneumatic cylinder. And i think that this method of opening a ball valve can replace the old method of using a spring. But this requires soldering, and welding, and other crap i cant do. But if you can afford it and have what you need, then go ahead. I really do like the ingenuity, it sparks my curiosity

P.S. If you want to know more, pm me and i will see if i can get a hold of the guy who made this gun. If you want a parts list, i can get you that too

Yea i know your right, but it aint my cannon :o he is not a part of spudfiles so i guess he doesnt know too much about pressure rated stuff. I guess some people just have to learn by trial and error
