Help - spark jumping on my 300,000 volt ignition

So here is my problem: I have a 300,000 volt stun gun (overkill I know)on my combustion cannon and the path to the inner electrode gaps (dual spark) are often shorted because the spark is wanting to transfer to the outer pipe straps that hold the gun on the chamber. Is there any way to insulate the path REALLY good before it gets to the inside gap. Also, any tips on how to securely attach wire ends to the stun gun prongs would be greatly appreciated. Mine never hold for long. Thanks!

It's my first gun by the way and I plan to post some pics soon.

well its not over kill until its bigger than the gun but i would use liquid electrical tape at lest 2 coats and it should do it also try soldering the leads to the wires.

Also 1/4" vinyl irrigation tubing makes a great insulator. Just slide you wire through it and hook evrything up.
