would the fill point of my new piston valve have to be directcly behind the piston? or could it be at the end of the chamber. the whole gun is made out of 15mm PVC. the chamber is just and end cap, 2 45s and then a 90 degree leading up to the piston.

what type of piston? sealing barrel or sealing chamber? normaly you fill from behind the piston hence the need for equilisation holes

its a barrel sealer. fill valve is a tyre valve.

yeah you need it to be behind the piston to push it forward

Unless you have a spring, but it's pretty hard to find the right spring, that isn't too strong or weak.

would the shrader valve be sufficient enough venting for a 15mm hot glue piston? i can use the blowgun but i was just wondering because its gonna be a bit tricky to mount the blowgun and the shrader behind the piston. theres not going to be much room.

on my 20mm piston im going to use a blowgun and just tap it into the wll of the end cap

yes i would do that except for my pipe is 5mm smaller. i figure i dont need a bumper either because theres a chunk of softish rubber on the end of the tyre valve that would work as a bumper.

Won't that be a bit awkward to hold/fire ?

it doesnt matter that much. its going to be kind of piston likre ill make it work. but thats why i was wondering if the shrader will be sufficient to pilot it so i wouldnt have to cram a blowgun in.

i know it is bad but you can put t joint in with one end threaded put a threded cap in there and drill and tap the release valve there

i got it. get a old bike pump and take the clamping bit off it. when finished filling with other pump. put this one on and flick the lever at the back. should release the air.

If the flow is sufficient (piston movement minimal) ya it will work wid a schrader.

im gonna just put the shrader into a male plug and test if it has suffiecnt flow but then if it doesnt i can always add a blowgun somewhere
