Where to Purchase a piston Valve?

It appears that Spud Tech is no longer selling their SGTC Supah-Valve. Where can I purchase one of these? Not sure I have the "know-how" to modify...or make one. Currently using a "rainbird,3/4" in line sprinkler valve. Sounds more like an air horn than a gun. Suspect that it is not fast enough.

HELP!!!!!

Have a look here -> yours for only $95

If you're not willing to spend that much, a properly modded sprinkler valve will only set you back $25 ;)

Yes, but the sprinkler has less than 1/4 the flow of the 95$ one, so it is really more like $100 vs. $95...

It depends on what he has in mind, for say a 3/4" marble gun a modded 1" sprinkler is more than enough.

Thanks for the responses! I am looking into the mauler valve link you sent me! Would like to shoot tennis balls. Not sure how to modify my rainbird sprinkler valve. It works pretty good....just makes a "honking" noise every time I shoot....is this is an indication of slow activation????

yea you might want to look into a faster opening or a larger pilot valve :)

That or low pressure.

Instructions for modding it yourself (really easy) can be found here, here and here, see which type most resembles your valve.

A 1" sprinkler will fire a tennis ball to a respectable distance with enough pressure and chamber size through a big enough barrel, but obviously a`piston valve with a higher flow like the mauler will give better performance.

Click here -- Honking Valve. The Wiki is a great place to find answers, the 1st time i looked around the Wiki, i was there for 2 hours! Fun fun, welcome to Spudfiles.

Edit: Jack beat me to it, your getting faster then the most of us. You should apply for a moderator possition, lol.

Nah, I just spend too much time here - ffs, almost 3,000 posts in 7 months  Whether at work or in my room I always have a spudfiles window open, the only time I don't peek is when I'm out or asleep - even while fabricating something I tend to take small "net breaks" :D

You can try BCArms (the official spudfiles store) http://www.bcvids.com/store/

Or you can make your own.

Sounds like you might have an addiction jack; maybe we should create a 12 step program for spudfiles addicts haha.

Anyways, If your willing to take a risk, its pretty easy to make a good piston valve cheaply, just look around.

You can buy a piston valve from almost any hardware store, its just not assembled. You have to do that part yourself.
